Loose Leaf & Teaware
The tea itself, and the pots and boxes that keep it. This is the quiet corner of the shop: glass infuser teapots, flask-shaped and with steamer stands, for watching the leaves open; carved mango wood tea boxes with six or twelve compartments for keeping a range of blends in one place; small ceramic sets with two cups; and the loose leaf itself in kilo bags for people who drink a lot of it. Tea belongs in a shop like this because the ritual of making it properly, warming the pot and waiting, is the same slowing-down that incense and candles are for. Everything here is practical first. Dispatched from the UK, and the wooden boxes are carved by hand in India, so the grain differs piece to piece.
