Carved Figures
Dragons, buddhas, skulls and dragon heads cut from amethyst, rose quartz, jade, sodalite and bloodstone. Carving a figure from a single piece of gemstone is slow work, done by hand in India and China, and the result is an object that reads two ways: as the figure itself, with the meaning the figure carries, and as a lump of the stone, with the colour and banding that only that piece has. The Buddhas are the calm ones, for a desk or a meditation corner. The dragon heads and the skull are the dramatic ones, bought for the witchcraft shelf and the collector's cabinet. Sizes run from palm-sized to the large pieces that anchor a shelf, and because every stone differs, the photograph shows the design rather than the exact piece you will receive.
