Magic Spell Candles

Sometimes you know exactly what you want a candle for. That's where these come in.

There are twelve intentions to choose from, including Protection, Prosperity, Luck, Confidence, Balance, Happiness, Seduction and the rather wonderfully named Sweet Revenge.

Each candle is made with soy wax and comes in a 20cm glass container, with real gemstones set into the wax. The fragrance has been chosen to match the intention too — Seduction, for example, combines ylang ylang and patchouli. Designed in Spain, they're £14 each and burn for around 50 hours.

That 50-hour burn time makes these particularly nice for rituals or intentions that you want to return to over several days rather than something you light once and forget about. The gemstones stay in the wax as it burns down, so you keep the stones once the candle is finished.

Protection is the one to choose for a new home, a house move or simply wanting to make a space feel more settled. Prosperity and Luck suit a new job, a job search or the start of a new venture. Confidence is a natural choice before an interview or another big moment.

And then there's Seduction, which doesn't really need much explaining.

Sweet Revenge is one of those candles people tend to buy as a gift with a grin.

If colour is part of your candle or ritual practice, you can also choose according to the traditional associations you're familiar with. Green is commonly used for money and prosperity, red for love and passion, and black for protection.

Trim the wick to around 5mm before burning and always use a heatproof surface. Never leave a lit candle unattended.
