Sitting in its own water is what turns a good bar to mush inside a week, so every dish here is slotted, ridged or raised to let the water run off. The petrified wood dish is the current piece: a slice of fossilised wood, polished flat, that is a natural stone with the grain of the tree still in it, and heavy enough to stay put beside a basin.
