The white pod is the plain, dependable ultrasonic diffuser: a 300ml tank, which is large for a desk model and runs for most of a working day, a seven-colour LED that cycles or holds on one shade, and a timer that offers three or six hours before switching off. If the water runs out it stops on its own. It is powered by USB on a metre of cable, so it works from a laptop, a plug adaptor or a power bank, and the mist is cool and dry, so the essential oil's scent comes through unchanged and nothing gets hot. At 13.5cm across and 224g it suits a bedside, a desk or a bathroom shelf, and the white pod shape disappears into any room. Wipe the tank between oils and it will run for years.
