Lakeland Mocha is the warm, deep one of Agnes and Cat's botanical candles: roasted coffee and cocoa set against earthy notes, drawn from a slow Lakeland morning of misty hills, damp ground and the first cup brewed at dawn. It is a comforting scent rather than a sweet one, closer to a coffee house than a cake shop, and it suits a living room in the evening or a kitchen on a grey Sunday. The candle is hand-poured in soy wax with dried florals set into the wax at the edge of the clear glass jar, so each one looks slightly different and the botanicals glow as the candle burns down; a wooden wick gives a soft crackle. It holds 350g of wax, around seventy hours of burning, and comes boxed for gifting. Soy wax burns cooler and cleaner than paraffin and carries a rich scent like this one without turning heavy.
