The geranium candle from Agnes and Cat's Herb Garden range: soy wax scented with rose geranium, a soft floral with a green, slightly minty edge, poured into a patterned terracotta-style pot with a natural wooden wick and set in a simple black metal stand that lifts it a little off the surface. Geranium is the scent of a greenhouse in June, rosy without being sweet, and it is the one of the three Herb Garden candles that suits a bedroom or a bathroom as well as a kitchen. The wooden wick crackles gently as it burns and throws a wider, calmer flame than a cotton one. Agnes and Cat pour in small batches in Yorkshire, in soy wax that burns cool and clean. Unlit, the candle reads as a potted plant on its stand, so the range sells to people who do not think of themselves as candle people.
