Waxing, full and waning moons worked into the copper

A ritual chalice in antiqued copper, 10cm tall and 8cm across the bowl, with the Triple Moon, waxing, full and waning, worked into the front. The chalice is one of the four tools of the Wiccan altar, standing for water and the feminine alongside the wand, the pentacle and the athame, and the Triple Moon is the symbol of the Goddess in her three aspects, so this is a chalice for a Goddess-centred practice: holding water, wine or juice for offerings, for the symbolic great rite, or for the cakes and ale at the end of a ritual. The copper has been darkened and finished to look like an artefact from an older age rather than something new. Copper is the metal of Venus in traditional correspondences, which suits the moon work. Rinse and dry after use; it is for ritual, not for the dishwasher.

Antiqued copper with iron fittings. 10 x 8cm. Weighs 111g. From India.
