Apophyllite tips come out of the rock as little pyramids, clear as glass at the point and cloudier towards the base. That shape is how the crystal grows rather than how it was cut — nothing here has been faceted by hand. These are the small ones, 7 to 10mm, and you get a hundred grams of them.
That is enough to scatter along a shelf, fill a dish, tuck one into a pocket and still have plenty spare. They catch light well in a group, so a handful in a shallow bowl does more than one on its own. They are also the easiest way to give crystals away without buying thirty separate presents.
