A four-string soprano ukulele handmade in Indonesia from sonokeling, the Indonesian rosewood that luthiers prize for its dense grain and warm tone, finished in a bold bright pink that shades a little darker towards the edges of the body. It is a full-size soprano at 57cm, strung and ready to tune, with a hardwood fretboard, and at 818g it is light enough for a child and solid enough for an adult. The sound is rounder and fuller than the plywood ukuleles sold as toys because the body is real wood, and the pink makes it the one that gets picked up, which is most of the battle with a first instrument. It is bought for children's birthdays, for beginners who want something that looks like fun, and by players who already own a brown one. Hangs on the wall as decoration between songs.
