A small handmade vessel for purification rituals
A small brass charcoal jar in purple with golden patterns, handmade in India, in the colour of the crown chakra. It is made for burning resin the traditional way: a charcoal tablet sits on the removable grate, a pinch of frankincense, copal or another resin goes on top, and the ash falls through into the jar below.
Purple is the colour of the seventh chakra, so the jar is used in rituals of purification or of opening the crown, and it sits well on a meditation shelf or a bedside altar. At 7.7cm across and 95g it is small, and the grate lifts out for emptying.
The brass gets very hot in use. Always stand it on a heat-resistant base, do not touch it while the charcoal is burning, keep it away from anything flammable, and let the charcoal cool completely before you throw it away.
Brass. 3 x 7.7cm. Weighs 95g. From India.
