Fifteen centimetres tall and steady on its foot

A copper ritual goblet, 15cm tall and 10cm across, with the Tree of Life worked onto the cup and a stem and foot in metal and iron, 310g. The goblet is the water and Goddess tool of the Wiccan altar, used for offerings, for the shared drink at the close of a rite and for moon water left out under a full moon, and the Tree of Life, roots and branches joined, marks this one for a Celtic, Druid or nature-centred practice, where the Triple Moon goblets on the same shelf would say something different. Copper is the metal of Venus in the old correspondences and it warms with handling, darkening over the years into the look of a found artefact. Off the altar it is a decorative piece that holds its own on a shelf or a mantel. Made in India. Rinse and dry by hand after use; the finish is not for the dishwasher. Pairs with the Triquetra brass bell for a Celtic altar set.

Copper with metal and iron fittings, Tree of Life. 10 x 15cm. Weighs 310g. From India.
