A 40mm amethyst sphere with an aura finish: natural amethyst bonded with a fine metal layer that lays a rainbow sheen over the purple, so the ball flashes gold and blue as it turns on its stand. The treatment is permanent and sits in the surface of the stone. At 40mm it is the smaller of our two aura spheres, a piece for a desk or a bedside where it can catch a lamp, and the stand it comes on is sized to match. Underneath the finish the amethyst keeps its natural banding, visible when the light is behind it.
