The 50mm amethyst aura sphere, the larger of the two sizes, with enough surface for the rainbow finish to really work. Natural amethyst is bonded with a thin layer of metal in a vacuum chamber, leaving a permanent sheen of gold, blue and green floating over the purple, and on a 50mm ball that sheen moves as you walk past it. The stand lifts it clear of the surface so light gets underneath. It is the size to choose for a mantelpiece, a meditation corner or a treatment room, where a 40mm sphere would get lost. The amethyst under the finish keeps its banding and depth. In crystal practice amethyst is the stone of calm and clarity, and aura amethyst is read as that with the volume turned up.
