Goloka Nag Champa in the original blue pack, sixteen hand-rolled sticks on bamboo. The blue pack was made famous by the patronage of Satya Sai Baba and went on to become the best-known incense in the world, the one most people picture when they hear the word. Goloka's version is sweet, floral and resinous, built on the champaca flower with a sandalwood base.
Each stick burns for about thirty minutes, and one is enough to scent an average room for the evening. Light the tip, let it glow, blow out the flame and stand it in a holder on a heatproof surface.
Nag Champa is the stick to start with if you have never burned incense, and the stick most people come back to after trying everything else. The 16g pack is the standard size, small enough to try and cheap enough to keep several on hand.
