A hand-beaten singing bowl from Nepal, engraved with the Flower of Life, the pattern of overlapping circles found in temples from Egypt to China and read as the symbol of the connection of all life. In meditation the bowl is used to settle the mind, and the geometry suits a practice built on unity and calm.
The set has everything needed to play straight from the box: the 14cm bowl, a wooden mallet, a cushion for the bowl to sit on and a pouch to keep it in. Strike the rim gently with the mallet for a clear ring, or run the mallet slowly and steadily round the outside edge until the bowl begins to sing and the note builds and holds. Hand beaten in Nepal, each bowl has a dimpled surface and its own slightly different voice.
It is a complete gift for a meditator, a yoga teacher or someone starting sound work, and it pairs with the Green Tara and Yogi bowls in the same range.
