White shows the ash, so you know when to tip it out
The white stone version of the concrete incense plate, cast in Indonesia, 23 by 17cm and a solid 730g. The finish is a soft, chalky off-white with the faint mottling of real limestone, and it is the plate that suits a light room: whitewashed wood, linen, plants, a white sage bundle on the side. White shows ash, which some people prefer because it tells them when to tip it out, and the smooth concrete wipes clean with a damp cloth in a second. Like the rest of the range it earns its place by weight, staying exactly where it is put with a stick leaning in the recess or a cone burning on the flat. It is wide enough that a long stick drops its ash on the plate and not the table. A plain, heavy, handsome thing for a daily incense habit.
Cast concrete, white stone effect. 23 x 17 x 3cm. Weighs 730g. From Indonesia.
