A flat point of amethyst bound in lace. The purple runs deeper in some stones than others, and the flat cut lets it lie against the chest rather than swing. In crystal practice amethyst is read as the stone of calm, intuition and inner peace.
The stone is bound in a net of lace, nylon and cotton, rather than capped or drilled, so nothing metal touches it and the whole stone shows. It hangs on an adjustable string of about 33cm, so it can sit at the collarbone or lower over a jumper, and it arrives ready to wear. The flat point is cut by hand in India, so each stone has its own shade and markings.
At 11g it is light enough to wear all day and forget about, and it slips under a shirt for work. It makes an easy gift for someone who prefers natural, handmade pieces to shiny jewellery.
