A large heart carved from natural calcite, 6.5 to 8.5cm across, with the stone's colour and crystal formations running through it. Calcite is soft enough to carve smoothly and glassy enough to catch the light, so the heart has a waxy shine on the surface and a depth underneath where the crystal shows. Because it is natural stone, the colour and pattern differ from heart to heart, and the one that arrives is unlike any other.
At around 97g it settles into the palm, which is how most people use it: held during a meditation, kept on a bedside table, or set at the centre of a small altar. In crystal practice calcite is read as a calming, cleansing stone.
It is the larger of the two calcite hearts we carry. The small heart, 4 to 5cm, suits a pocket; this one suits a shelf, and makes a quiet gift for someone you love.
