An amethyst pendulum in the lingam form: an elongated egg shape, rounded at both ends, on a 23cm chain. The lingam shape comes from the sacred river stones of the Narmada in India and is used in pendulum work for its balance; a rounded bob swings cleanly and settles quickly, where a sharp point can catch and wobble. The amethyst is polished and the purple runs deeper at the thick end of the egg. At 11g it is light enough to respond to small movements, as a pendulum should for yes-and-no questions, chakra work or dowsing over a map or a chart. Amethyst is the stone of clear thinking in crystal practice, the traditional choice for a first pendulum. Made in India, on a plain metal chain with a small bead to hold.
