Large Mango Wood Backflow Incense Burner - Hamsa
Force your racing mind to slow down and watch a mesmerising reverse waterfall
Anchor your low table with a massive striking symbol of pure protection
- The smoke falls instead of rising — a mesmerising, slow-motion waterfall
- Carved from solid mango wood in the open Hamsa shape
- Large at 22cm, so it holds a shelf on its own
- Works as a piece of carving even when it is not lit
- Made in India; the grain makes every one slightly different

Enjoy a stunning piece of carved wood even when the smoke has cleared
Backflow smoke does the opposite of what smoke should: it pours down the tower and pools at the bottom like water. The trick is in the cone — a backflow cone has a hole bored through the middle, and the cooled smoke is heavy enough to sink. You will need backflow cones specifically, as ordinary incense cones will not produce the effect.
This one is cut from a single block of mango wood into the open form of the Hamsa, rather than the usual mountain. Twenty-two centimetres across means it reads as an object in its own right even with nothing burning in it, and no two pieces take the grain the same way.
