Copper and stone layers catching the light around him
A large orgonite pyramid, 70mm across the base and 6.5cm tall, with a Ganesh figure cast into the clear resin above layers of gemstone chips, copper coils and metal filings. Ganesh is the elephant-headed god of Hindu tradition, the remover of obstacles and the lord of beginnings, invoked before a journey, a new venture or an exam, and a pyramid with Ganesh inside it is the orgonite for a desk where something is about to start. Orgonite is the modern resin-and-metal material developed from Wilhelm Reich's ideas about life energy, kept in crystal practice as a balancing and protective object, and the pyramid is its classic, focusing shape; the figure is seen through the faces from the side and the copper glints in the light. Hand-cast in India, where Ganesh is on every shop counter, in small batches with spiritual intent, so the figure, the chips and the coils sit differently in each pyramid and the photograph shows the design rather than your piece.
Gemstone chips, copper and metal filings in crystal resin, Ganesh figure. 7.5 x 7.5 x 6.5cm. From India.
