A kilo of rainbow moonstone chips: small tumbled pieces of the milky feldspar with the blue flash, polished so that when you tip the bag under a light a hundred tiny sheens move at once. The chips run roughly 5 to 15mm and the body colour is white to grey with the occasional peach. Rainbow moonstone at tumble size is a premium stone; at chip size by the kilo it becomes something you can use freely, in resin, in candles, in a bowl, along the edge of a windowsill where the morning light catches it, or in a crystal grid for a moon ritual. Moonstone has been tied to the moon, to intuition and to new beginnings for as long as anyone has named stones, and chips are the way to use a lot of it.
