Selenite Cylinder Candle Holder - Medium

The medium selenite cylinder candle holder: a 15cm column of Moroccan selenite, 8cm across, hollowed at the top for a tea light. It sits between the small 10cm holder and the tall 20cm column, enough height for the glow to climb the stone and small enough for a bedside or a bathroom shelf.

Selenite is a translucent form of gypsum that grows in long, fibrous crystals, so when a tea light burns inside it the flame glows softly through the walls and the whole piece seems lit from within. The top is polished, the underside cut flat so it stands steady, and the sides are left rough with the natural satin sheen and occasional whiter patches of the raw mineral.

In crystal practice selenite is the cleansing stone, linked to the crown chakra, and a lit holder is the gentlest way to keep it at work in a room. Keep it dry, since selenite is water-soluble, and dust it with a soft cloth.
