The pointed oval is where the name comes from, and this is the shallowest of the three bowls. Three centimetres deep means nothing gets lost in it: earrings, a ring, a single palm stone, all visible at once.

Cut from one block of Moroccan selenite, polished smooth inside and left rough at the outer edge, so it reads as carved stone rather than a moulded dish. Selenite is water-soluble, so it wants a dressing table rather than a bathroom shelf.

In crystal practice selenite is the stone that cleanses other stones, so a bowl of it is where tumbles and jewellery go overnight. Dust it with a dry cloth; never rinse it.
