Selenite Heart - Large

The large selenite heart, 10cm across and 4cm thick, carved from a single piece of Moroccan selenite and polished so the fibrous grain runs through it in bands of white light. At 300g it has real presence in two hands, and set on a windowsill or in front of a candle it glows from the inside, the quality that gives selenite its name after the moon goddess Selene. This is the size people buy to mark something: an engagement, a loss, a house move, a friendship. It stands on its own on a shelf or sits in a dish of other stones as the centrepiece. Keep it dry, because selenite softens in water. In crystal practice selenite is the clearing stone, and a heart of it is read as clearing with care.
