A heart carved from Moroccan selenite, 4cm across, drilled to hang as a pendant. Selenite is milky white and translucent, with a soft satin glow when light passes through it, and against the skin the heart looks almost like moonstone or frosted glass. At 10g it is light enough to forget. In crystal practice selenite is the stone of cleansing, calm and the crown chakra, said to clear the energy of whoever wears it and of the other stones around it, so a selenite pendant is worn for a clear head and a quiet mind, and it is often the piece given to someone who is anxious. Selenite is soft and dissolves slowly in water, so take it off for the shower and the swim, and it will last. Supplied without a cord, so it goes on whatever chain or thong suits; a plain black cord is the usual choice.
