Cleaner faces than the natural towers, catching light in bands
A 10cm selenite tower cut to a pencil point, the four-sided taper that gives the stone a direction. Where the natural towers are flat-topped and rough, this one is shaped, with cleaner faces that catch light in bands and a point that draws the eye upward, so it suits a crystal grid's centre or the apex of an altar. It is cut from a single piece of Moroccan selenite, around 260g, and the fibrous grain still shows through the faces. Selenite is named for Selene, the Greek moon goddess, and crystal practice uses it as the stone that cleanses other stones and quiets a room; a pointed tower is read as directing that upward. Keep it dry, since selenite dissolves in water, and it will stay bright for years.
Selenite. 4 x 10cm. Weighs around 260g. From Morocco.
