A small, calm centrepiece for a desk or altar
A selenite pyramid, 10cm tall on a 4 by 3.5cm base, cut from Moroccan selenite. The pyramid shape gathers the light to a single point at the top, and set on an LED light block or in front of a window it glows through from base to tip.
Selenite takes its name from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, and the way its milky fibres carry light explains why. It is a soft, translucent form of gypsum, so keep it dry and dust it with a cloth rather than washing it. In crystal practice it is the cleansing stone, linked with the crown chakra, and it is often used to clear other crystals placed beside it.
It is a calm, small centrepiece for a desk, a bedside or an altar, and it pairs with a selenite wand for a light-block display.
Selenite. 3.5 x 4 x 10cm. Weighs 160g. From Morocco.
