A black tourmaline wand on the theme of protection, 19.5cm long, with a shaft of polished tourmaline tapering to a faceted point and a lingam-form cap in agate at the other end, finished with a red-brown stone bead and metal collars. Black tourmaline shows fine lengthways striations in the polish, the signature of the natural stone, and the wand has a satisfying weight at 65g without being heavy. The Shiva lingam form, the rounded egg at the cap, comes from the Narmada river stones of India and is paired here with tourmaline because both are read as protective.
