Open and close your daily practice with a sound that demands presence
Size is what you are buying here. Small tingsha give a bright ping; this 9.5cm pair rings lower and holds the note for a surprisingly long time, which is the reason the bigger ones are what gets carried to a class.
They are cast in solid brass with relief deep enough to feel under a thumb, detailed with Five Buddha imagery symbolising wisdom, balance, compassion, mindfulness and spiritual awakening, and strung on a leather cord. Hold them loosely by the cord and let the edges meet rather than clashing them flat, and you get a clear, sustaining note.
Traditionally used in meditation and Buddhist practice, and just as much at home in yoga, sound work and space clearing. Left out afterwards, they are decorative as well as functional.
