Vedic amber incense from Aromatika in Jaipur, a box of twelve hand-rolled masala sticks. Amber is the warm, resinous, slightly sweet scent of the range, the one that reads as evening rather than morning, and it is the usual pick for a living room in winter or a slow bath.
Masala sticks are made by pressing a paste of herbs, resins and oils onto a bamboo core rather than dipping a blank stick in perfume, so the smoke is fuller and the scent lasts longer in the room. Each stick burns for twenty minutes or more and one is enough for an average room.
Light the tip, let it glow, blow out the flame and stand it in a holder on a heatproof surface. Twelve sticks to a 15g box. Amber sits well beside the basil and sandalwood sticks in the same range if you want a set.
