A soft resin stick for the end of the day
Benzoin is a tree resin with a vanilla-like sweetness, the scent at the base of many church incenses, and this Vedic box from Aromatika in Jaipur carries it as a hand-rolled masala stick: twelve sticks, 15g, each burning for twenty minutes or more. Masala incense is rolled from a paste of resin, herbs and oils onto bamboo, so the scent is full and warm rather than thin, and benzoin in particular lingers in a room for hours after the stick is out. It is a comfortable, settling scent, often chosen for the evening or for a study. Burn in a stick holder or ash catcher. The box is small and the price is small, which makes it a good way to find out whether benzoin is your resin before buying it in bulk.
