A kilo of white Himalayan crystal salt in rough chunks, mined in Pakistan from the same deposits as the pink salt but without the iron that colours it. The chunks are thumb-sized and larger, which gives you options: a few in a warm bath, where they dissolve slowly and leave the water soft; a grinder on the table; a dish beside a salt lamp or on an altar; or a bowl of them in a damp room, where salt has been used to draw moisture and freshen the air for centuries. It is food grade, so it can go in the kitchen as well as the bathroom. A kilo at this price is a different proposition from the little jars sold as bath salts, and it keeps indefinitely in a dry cupboard.
