Light enough for a travelling altar kit
The small Hamsa smudge bowl, 12cm across, carved from mango wood with the open hand of protection on its face. The Hamsa has been used to guard homes across the Middle East and North Africa for centuries, so this is the bowl for a protective clearing, a doorway shelf or a new bedroom.
It is a working bowl. Rest a smudge stick across it while it smoulders and the ash falls inside, or use it to hold loose herbs, resin, salt or small offerings on the altar. The smooth inside wipes clean, and between rituals it makes a dish for stones or rings.
It is light at 107g, so it travels well in an altar kit, and the large 14cm Hamsa bowl is there for a main altar.
Mango wood. 12 x 7cm. Weighs 107g. From India.
