Dolly Blue is named for the laundry blue that went into the wash on Mondays, and the scent is exactly that: soft, powdery, clean and faintly nostalgic, the smell of sheets dried outside and a house that has just been tidied. It is the calmest of Agnes and Cat's Kilner jar candles, the one for a bedroom, a slow evening or a guest room, and it makes a space feel welcoming without announcing itself. The jar is a proper 400ml Kilner with its clip lid, which seals the fragrance in between burns and gives you a jar to keep afterwards, and it holds nearly a kilo of hand-poured natural soy wax that burns evenly and releases scent gradually rather than in a rush. Poured in small batches in Yorkshire. Soy wax burns cooler and cleaner than paraffin and leaves the glass clear. Keep the wick trimmed and let each burn reach the edge.
