The perfumer's amber of labdanum, vanilla and benzoin

Amber incense cones from Stamford's premium range, made in India from a paste of herbs and resins pressed into a solid cone with no bamboo core, so each one burns down completely to a small heap of ash on a dish or in a cone holder. Amber in perfumery is not the fossil resin but a warm, sweet, slightly powdery accord of labdanum, vanilla and benzoin, and as incense it is one of the most comforting scents there is, the smell of an old church or a warm coat, and the one to burn on a cold evening. Cones give off scent faster than sticks and suit a room that wants to be filled quickly, around 20 minutes a cone with the fragrance lingering well after. The pack weighs 40g. At this price it is the cheapest way to try amber, and it goes with the Hamsa holders and the concrete plates, both of which take cones.

Stamford premium incense cones, amber. 10 x 16 x 8cm pack. Weighs 40g. From India.
