A calcite tower, 9 to 11cm tall, polished on its flat sides and left raw everywhere else, so the piece is half finished stone and half specimen: the polished faces show the banding of honey, cream and orange through the calcite, and the raw faces keep the crystal formations as they grew. It is a different object from a fully polished point, rougher and more mineral, and it is the one bought by people who collect specimens rather than ornaments. Calcite is the stone of calm, emotional cleansing and gentle energy in crystal practice, and a tower is the shape used to focus it: stood on a desk, an altar or a windowsill where the light comes through the thinner edges. Every tower is cut from a different piece, so the colour, the banding and the exact height vary, and the photograph shows the type rather than your piece. At 115g it stands steadily.
