Desk sized, from Morocco, and unlike any other
The smallest of our Moroccan calcite geodes, 8 to 9cm, cut open to show a cavity of calcite and selenite crystal. At this size it is a desk piece or a first geode for a child who has just discovered that rocks can have insides. Hold it to a window and the crystal lights up; set it on a dark surface and the white and honey tones stand out against it. No two are the same, because each one grew in its own pocket of rock, so the crystal may be fine and sparkling or larger and more glassy. In crystal practice calcite is associated with calm and clearing, and small geodes are often kept on a bedside or a study desk for exactly that reason.
Calcite and selenite. 8 to 9cm. Weighs around 420g. From Morocco.
