A charcoal incense jar in red brass with gold patterns, handmade in India, in the colour of the sacral chakra, the second energy centre, placed below the navel and read in the chakra system as creativity, pleasure and the flow of feeling. It is a resin burner: a charcoal disc sits on the removable grate, loose resin or herbs go on the disc, and the ash drops through the grate into the jar, so the burn is clean and the jar is emptied in a moment. At 7.7cm and 95g it is small enough for a desk, a bedside or a travelling altar. It is used for sacral chakra meditation and for creative work, lit at the start of a session of writing, painting or making, and it is one of seven colours collected as a set or bought alone for the centre someone is working on. Incense burners get very hot; use a heatproof surface and let it cool before handling.
Brass, red enamel with gold pattern, removable grate. 3 x 7.7cm. Weighs 95g. From India.
