A small gemstone tree with 35 chips of different stones wired onto fine metal branches and anchored to a slice of natural agate, so that the base is a stone in its own right, banded and translucent at the edge, and no two trees sit on the same one. The canopy is a mix rather than a single stone: amethyst, aventurine, carnelian, rose quartz, lapis, tiger's eye and others, and the mix makes it the tree for someone who cannot choose, or for a child who wants to spot the stones. It is 10cm tall and 40g, a desk, windowsill or bedside piece that catches the light in the morning. Gemstone trees are placed in crystal practice and feng shui where a room wants settling and a little luck, with the mixed-stone tree read as covering every base.
