A flat point of golden quartz, the warm honey-yellow quartz, bound at the top in a lace of nylon and cotton thread and hung on a string of about 33cm, handcrafted in India. The flat cut is what makes it different from the usual faceted point: it lies against the chest rather than sitting proud, so it is comfortable under a shirt, and the lacing holds the stone without a metal cap, which gives it a handmade, slightly festival look. Golden quartz is read in crystal practice as the stone of warmth, confidence and the solar plexus, the centre of will, and it is worn for a lift on grey days and before anything that takes nerve. At 11g it is light enough to forget. The string is adjustable and ready to wear from the packet. Natural stone, so the depth of yellow and the clarity vary from pendant to pendant.
