African bloodstone is a rare variety of chalcedony with a deep midnight-green ground speckled and streaked with red and sometimes grey, and the medium size shows the speckling well; every stone is marked differently. Bloodstone has been the warrior's stone since the ancient world, carried for courage and endurance, and in crystal practice it keeps that reading, the stone for seeing something hard through and for stepping into your own power.
