Ten cones, ten evenings of cascade from one small box
Ten Aromatika masala backflow cones in coconut and mango, in a small hexagonal box: creamy coconut under sweet ripe mango, the most tropical scent in the shop, made for burning on a backflow burner where the dense smoke drops through the hollow cone and pours down the burner like slow water. Masala cones are made by rolling the scent into the paste rather than dipping a finished cone in fragrance, so the smell is rounder and the smoke smoother than the cheap cones that come free with burners. Coconut and mango is a holiday scent, burned in February to pretend, in a conservatory in July, and by people who find the resins and sages of most incense too serious. Each cone burns for around fifteen minutes, long enough for the cascade to build and settle. For a backflow burner; on a flat dish the cones burn but the smoke rises. Made in India.
