Palo santo, Bursera graveolens, grows on the dry Pacific coast of Peru and Ecuador, and its fallen wood has been burned by healers there for centuries to cleanse a space and a person, with a smoke that is sweet, resinous, faintly minty and unlike any other incense. Burning the raw wood is awkward; it goes out, needs relighting, and smokes unevenly. These sticks solve that by binding the ground wood into a thick 20cm stick that lights once and burns steadily for over an hour. The pack weighs 20g.
