Apple and cinnamon incense sticks from Stamford's premium plant-based range, made in India without synthetic binders. The scent is baked apple and warm spice, the kitchen in late autumn, and it is the stick that gets burned from the first cold evening through to the new year, alongside the Yule candles. Plant-based binding gives a slower, smoother burn and a softer smoke than ordinary dipped sticks, so the sweetness stays clean rather than cloying. The pack is full length, 24cm, and weighs 50g, with each stick burning for 30 to 40 minutes in a standard holder or ash catcher. At this price it is one of the cheapest sticks in the shop and a sensible one to add to a basket. Stamford is the long-established English incense house; this is its plant-based line.
