A full set of lapis lazuli rune stones in a printed cotton pouch: twenty-five polished stones of the deep blue stone flecked with gold pyrite, twenty-four engraved with the Elder Futhark and one left blank. Lapis is the stone that scribes and pharaohs wore in Egypt and that painters ground into ultramarine, and in crystal practice it is the stone of truth, wisdom and the third eye, which makes it the natural stone for a divination tool: a lapis cast is a reading that is meant to tell you something straight. The gold flecks fall differently on every stone, so each rune has its own sky.
