Rings and earrings rest in its polished dish overnight

A heart-shaped bowl carved from a single piece of Moroccan selenite, 10cm across and 3cm deep, with the dish polished smooth and the outer edge left as the stone came. Selenite is translucent, so the thin walls of the heart glow when a lamp or a window is behind it, and the shape makes it the one that gets given: for an engagement, an anniversary, a friend's new home. It holds rings and earrings, a few tumble stones or a tealight in a holder. Selenite dissolves in water, so it lives on a dressing table rather than a bathroom shelf. In crystal practice selenite is the cleansing stone, used to clear other crystals by resting them in it overnight, and a heart of it is read as clearing with kindness.

Selenite. 10 x 10 x 3cm. Weighs 350g. From Morocco.
