The walls glow when it sits in front of the light

A round ritual bowl, 10cm across and nearly 5cm deep, carved from one block of Moroccan selenite with a polished interior and a raw rim. The depth is the difference from the dish-style bowls: this one holds offerings, a tealight in a holder, a bundle of herbs, or a handful of stones without anything rolling out. Selenite is translucent, and a bowl this deep glows along its walls when it sits in front of a candle. It is the bowl for an altar or a meditation table, and at 330g it is light enough to carry to a class. Keep it away from water, which softens the stone. In crystal practice selenite is the cleansing stone, used to clear other crystals by resting them in it, and the ritual bowl is the traditional form for that.

Selenite. 10 x 10 x 4.6cm. Weighs 330g. From Morocco.
