Light in the hand at 80g for a long session

A selenite wand carved with a spiral along its 16cm length and pointed at both ends. The double point gives the wand a direction either way, and the spiral turns the light into a twisting band as it moves, so it is as much a thing to watch as to hold.

Selenite takes its name from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, and the way its milky fibres carry light explains why. It is a soft, translucent form of gypsum, so keep it dry and dust it with a cloth rather than washing it. In crystal practice it is the cleansing stone, linked with the crown chakra, and it is often used to clear other crystals placed beside it.

At 1.5cm across and 80g it is light enough for a long session. Laid on an LED light block it glows end to end, and it pairs with the selenite pyramid for a display.

Selenite. 16 x 1.5cm. Weighs 80g. From Morocco.
